Asbestos-free Gland packing IZOLOCK
Graphite sealing tape IZOLOCK C-200 K is made of thermally expanded graphite reinforced with glass roving by weaving and subsequent rolling. The tape may contain an adhesive layer for easy installation. The flexibility of the tape makes it possible to mount it on the surfaces to be sealed easily and quickly, without the need for laborious manufacturing of complex gaskets from sheet sealing materials.
Tape properties
Thermoexpanded graphite tapes have excellent sealing properties: good compressibility, recoverability and low creep. These beneficial properties enable them to maintain tightness at high pressure and temperature throughout the entire service life. All tapes are treated with a corrosion inhibitor to prevent the risk of erosion of the sealing surfaces.

Mounting the tape on flanges
The advantage of tapes over sheet metal gaskets is that installation is much faster, without preparatory processes such as cutting gaskets, especially those with complex geometric shapes or large dimensions. The structure of the tapes makes it possible to seal surfaces with large roughnesses, irregularities and even chips. For ease of installation, one side of the tape may contain an adhesive layer.
“Snap-in” installation
Graphite tapes have a unique structure that allows them to easily form a reliable connection between the ends of the seal. The structure of the tape, which can be easily divided along the length on both sides of the segment and connected by overlapping them.
Use as a gland packing
The excellent sealing properties of the tapes make it possible to use them as a sealant for stuffing boxes. This is especially useful when it comes to packing with a small cross-section of 3 to 6 mm. The wide tapes can replace several gland packing rings, and the “snap-in” connection system provides a much more reliable connection than the 45°C connection used for packing rings.
